The years 2020 – 2021 have shaken the life of everyone with the Covid -19 pandemic. During the 2nd wave of Covid -19 this year, Nityaasha took extra cautions and safety of the children and families and our center remained closed and work from home was scheduled till mid of August 2021. The children with chronic illness like Type 1 diabetes feel more worries as they are considered as a high risk group.
Type 1 diabetes children and young adults enrolled with Nityaasha also faced challenges and issues to reach the health care sector as many of children comes from remotes areas. There was no proper civil transport available and every minute in the city there was the siren of an ambulance sound and that made life more tense. The Nityaasha team plays an important role in the life of all the Type 1 diabetes children and families enrolled with us by continuous monitoring & counselling on phone, emotional supports and arrangement of medical aid collection from nearby medical stores.
With the continuous support and donations received from well –wishes our services were not interrupted and also able to provide groceries items and milk to 50 neediest families.
