Ingredients:
For the dough:
- Semolina(Rawa) – 1 cup (100 gms)
- Wheat Flour – ¼ cup (25 gms)
- Ghee – 2tsp
- Milk – ½ cup
- Salt – ¼ tsp
For Filling:
- Dates – 10 pieces seedless,
- Almonds – 8 to 10
- Walnut – ½ cup
- Dry Coconut – ½ cup
- Rawa (thin) – 2 tsp
- PoppySeed – 1 tsp
- Cardamom Powder – ¼ tsp
- Refined Oil – 4cups
Method:
- Take semolina (rawa), wheat flour. Put salt and add 2 tspof ghee
- andmix it properly. Put milk into the mixture and knead it to make
- dough. Keep it aside for at least half an hour. To prepare thefilling,
- roastrawa and poppy seeds till golden brown. Grind almonds and
- walnuts to make a dry powder. Put the dates into blender to make
- a paste. Grate dry coconut. Mix all together and add cardamom powder to it. The fillingis ready. Make
- small balls and roll them like a puri. Place the filling in between and fold into half. One can use the
- Karanji frame which is easily available. Heat oil and deep-fry the prepared Karanjis till golden brown.
