Sugar Free Karanji

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  1. Semolina(Rawa) – 1 cup (100 gms)
  2. Wheat Flour – ¼ cup (25 gms)
  3. Ghee – 2tsp
  4. Milk – ½ cup
  5. Salt – ¼ tsp

For Filling:

  1. Dates – 10 pieces seedless,
  2. Almonds – 8 to 10
  3. Walnut – ½ cup
  4. Dry Coconut – ½ cup
  5. Rawa (thin) – 2 tsp
  6. PoppySeed – 1 tsp
  7. Cardamom Powder – ¼ tsp
  8. Refined Oil – 4cups

Method:

  • Take semolina (rawa), wheat flour. Put salt and add 2 tspof ghee
  • andmix it properly. Put milk into the mixture and knead it to make
  • dough. Keep it aside for at least half an hour. To prepare thefilling,
  • roastrawa and poppy seeds till golden brown. Grind almonds and
  • walnuts to make a dry powder. Put the dates into blender to make
  • a paste. Grate dry coconut. Mix all together and add cardamom powder to it. The fillingis ready. Make
  • small balls and roll them like a puri. Place the filling in between and fold into half. One can use the
  • Karanji frame which is easily available. Heat oil and deep-fry the prepared Karanjis till golden brown.
